I am pleased to announce, that I will be running a free IT Drop In for the local community in Halesowen, for six weeks. The sessions will take place every Wednesday 10 am to 1pm from Wednesday 21st September to Wednesday 2nd November. At Hasbury Community Centre, Halesowen.
The idea is that local people of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity just to come and chat about using technology if they are new to it, or want to start using it. Some help with setting up a device if they have recently bought one. Provide advice with regards to protecting their device and keeping safe on the Internet.
The sessions will also offer advice about apps and software, and also where to get specific help if people have particular physical challenges, for example sight, hearing, or an illness that restricts movement in the hands and arm joints. I am particularly keen to provide help to people who would like to use technology more, but not sure how they can if they are on a low income.
Being a technology and Internet enthusiast. I have quite a range of knowledge that can help people search for work online, provide useful advice about pursuing an IT qualifications, and home computing on a Windows laptop or desktop.
If you live in the Halesowen area please download the pdf above for the full information. When you click on the link it will open a new tab. Just click on the link again in the new tab and the pdf will appear. You may not need my help yourself, but you might know someone who does.
Having mentored and supported a number of Digital Volunteers and Digital Champions both locally and nationally for a number of years. I am really looking forward to giving some of my time to boosting technology confidence and knowledge to the local community.
